This September, the Bamboo Lota team will be sending one of our own to Malawi to do some on-ground research for the project. In order to fully understand the needs of the local Malawians, we felt that going on a trip there would be one of the first steps to finding a viable solution to their deforestation problems and ways to improve the the charcoal trade for the local population. She will be staying with Emmanuel International to gain perspective on how to run a non-profit and will be able to have the opportunity to view some of the amazing projects they are working on. Furthermore, she will be talking with local community members to gain a better understanding of their culture and way of life. Full immersion into the community is what is in store for her.
